CLASSIC TALE: 1966 Chevrolet Impala Located in Jersey, Rust-Free

Posted by Vern Parker

As Bill Wyman was growing up in a General Motors family in Detroit he was too young to appreciate the classic lines of the mid-1960s Chevrolet Impalas. Years later, however, the 1966 Chevrolet Impala attracted his attention, particularly the two-door hardtop model.

"In my early 20s," Wyman says, "I remember thinking that when I turn 50 I am going to buy a classic car." As that inevitable half-century mark approached, Wyman started shopping for the car that he had promised himself. "I'm really into cars," he admits.

CLASSIC TALE: 1914 KisselKar is a Farm Relic and a Museum Relic

Posted by Vern Parker

For decades Lynn Kissel tinkered with and raced various old and not so old cars. He was only vaguely aware during those years that there was a car with his surname.

"My son Andrew gave me a framed 1920 Saturday Evening Post magazine page with a large Kissel ad." That gift hung on the wall of his office, a daily reminder that Kissel cars had existed.

"I changed my mind about the color three or four times," Cabral says.

Philly Auto Show Returns to Convention Center January 30th

Posted by Chris Illuminati

I'm not really a gear head but this is must-see event even for casual car fans. The auto show is back in town.

A key feature of this year’s Philadelphia International Auto Show is the expansion of DUB Live!, a 35,000 square-foot display of some of the hottest customized rides and celebrity vehicles sponsored by DUB magazine, the premier publication of the urban automotive lifestyle. In addition, the nine-day Auto Show returns with a 550,000-square-foot display floor showcasing a range of vehicles including pre-production models, concepts, hybrids, exotics and antiques from all around the world.

I wouldn't mind checking out the celebrity rides portion. I'm a big fan of the show MTV Cribs and seeing their cars is probably my favorite part of the show. I mean how long can you listen to Dwayne Wade talk about granite counters.

For more information about this year's show, check out the official Philly Auto Show website.

Zero S Motorcycle is All-Electric, Environmentally Friendly Bike

Posted by Arv Voss

Should you happen to be a street biker -- and an environmentalist at heart -- Zero motorcycles, based in Santa Cruz, Calif., offers bikes for either scenario.

Zero motorcycles are all-electric and provide huge advantages over conventional gas-powered motorcycles. As all-electric bikes they do no use fossil fuel. In fact, they use no fuel at all. Being electric, the Zero moves appropriately enough, like a bolt of lightning.

Posted by Junior Damato

Dear Doctor: I have problems with the "low tire pressure" indicator lights coming on in both my 2006 Toyota Sienna and 2007 Nissan Frontier. I have checked the air pressure and pushed the reset button on my Toyota. How much tolerance do these monitors have? Jack

CLASSIC TALE: 1968 Chevy Pickup Truck Has Remained In The Family

Posted by Vern Parker

Clifford Hagle had always driven second-hand trucks and he was determined to get his first new truck in 1968. He decided that a Chevrolet half-ton C-10 Custom Group model with a 6-foot short bed was the truck for him. He ordered one with a 327-cubic-inch, 187 horsepower V-8 engine mated to a Turbo 400 Hydra-Matic transmission.

The 3,495-pound Fleetside pickup is mounted on a 115-inch wheelbase. Bumper-to-bumper the truck stretches 15 feet, 8.5 inches. Since this was his first new truck he loaded it up with a Posi-Traction rear end, power brakes, power steering, AM radio and air conditioning. The base price was $2,370.

CLASSIC TALE: Corvette Was Birthday Present From Husband to Wife in 1962

Posted by Vern Parker

The jury is still out on whether the late John Riddle bought a 1962 Corvette roadster as a birthday present for his wife, Betty, or as a toy for himself.

Regardless, Betty's 25th birthday was Oct. 19, 1962 and she was at home preparing dinner when she was interrupted by a telephone call from her husband. He wanted her to come to the Knapp Chevrolet dealership in downtown Houston to look at a car.

A gallery of awful car tattoos

Posted by Chris Illuminati

Tattoos can be a work of art when done correctly and have much more meaning to a person. What about when it's a devotion to a car?

Here is a gallery of some awful car tattoos. Some are just poorly done while others are just plain odd choices for ink.

Which is the worst? Is there a good one in the bunch?

Volt So Tech Savvy -- Features Its Own Volt Phone Apps

2011 Chevrolet Volt. X11CH_VT093

Posted by Dan Carney

Chevrolet Volt buyers are expected to be a tech-savvy bunch who enjoy the latest gadgets, so the company will cater to their desires with a sweet new smart phone application, helping them optimize their Volt for cheaper recharges and more miles on battery power.

The new app, which will be free to Volt buyers, will let them see their car's state of charge and schedule its charging. That means that once it is plugged in, they can remotely tell the car to start charging immediately, if they expect to need to drive somewhere soon, or they can tell it to wait until late at night, when the electric rates are lower.
