Red Lobster wants to get you drunk
Posted by Kaytie Dowling
The folks at Red Lobster, the epicenter of culture and fine dining, want you to know that you can choose from a wide variety of brews the next time you order cheddar biscuits and tilapia. (Really. I didn't make it up; it's a big push on the Web site.)
From first glance it seems that the microbrew trend has worked its way up to the big box restaurants. Sort of. While you won't be able to snatch up a Walt Wit, you might be able to at least have a Yuengling. (Does that still count as a micro?) Throw in a Sam Adams and a Stella, and you almost have a decent selection. Almost.
Despite the company's best marketing efforts, Red Lobster is still mostly pushing a long list of big-name domestics that don't pack a big-name taste. Meh.
But I'll take the progress. Because if I do have to go to a RL in the near future, I'll want something more substantial than a Bud Light to help me through dinner.
