German on South

If you're near South Street, stop what you're doing and go to Brauhaus Schmitz. Seriously. Now. Go there.
It's authentic German food, complete with brauts and goulash that would make my grandmother proud. But it also has a huge selection of German beer. I'm a huge fan of wheat beer, and I spend a lot of time drinking brews like Blue Moon. But the brews I sampled at the bar were far, far better than that Belgian beer.
And if you want to show off your German skills, you'll be sure to find a few people there who can help. Our waitress not only greeted us in German, but took orders and had some conversation in the language. I was impressed.
