>>> If you did not heed our advice and buy tickets to the Newtown Brew Fest the day they went on sale, you are shit-outta-luck: it's sold out...BUT, there are two great beer festivals scheduled before then for which you can still get tickets.

* The International Great Beer Expo is set for two separate sessions at the Philadelphia Naval Yards on Saturday, August 15. The emphasis is on import beers, natch. Food will also be available. Tickets are $45 online and $60 at the door.

* The 10th annual Jenkintown Jazz and BrewFest, featuring free jazz and cold beer, is Sunday, September 13, at 1 p.m. BrewFest tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the gate. Tickets will go on sale in August.

>>> Kid Rock, who will play Hersheypark Stadium (with Lynyrd Skynyrd) on Friday, July 31, welcomed his new line of suds - American Badass Beer (not Bawitda Brew?) - earlier this month in Detroit. The American style lager is brewed by Michigan Brewing Co. Rock said of the beer in Rolling Stone:

“...It's a good American light beer, a regular beer, and a light beer, an everyday beer...”

He also mentioned he drinks Jim Beam and Coke.
